Umbraco CMS Implementation
Build, upgrade, or migrate to Umbraco 17 LTS with a modern .NET 10 foundation, editor-friendly content models, and React or API-driven frontend delivery.
Umbraco 17 Implementation and Migration Services
Umbraco 17 is the current Long-Term Supported version of Umbraco CMS. It runs on Microsoft .NET 10 LTS and gives businesses a supported foundation for modern websites, content platforms, APIs, and composable digital experiences.
Vanitech helps businesses implement new Umbraco 17 websites, upgrade existing Umbraco builds, and migrate from older versions such as Umbraco 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16. We plan the migration path carefully so content, integrations, SEO, editor workflows, and frontend behaviour are protected through the change.
If you are running Umbraco 13, it is important to plan now. Umbraco 13 has moved out of its normal support phase and is in its final security-only phase. It reaches End-of-Life on December 14, 2026, after which official security patches and updates are no longer provided unless you have Extended Long-Term Support.
Our Umbraco Services
Umbraco 17 Website Development
We build modern Umbraco websites that are easy for editors to manage and reliable for developers to extend. Depending on your requirements, we can deliver traditional Umbraco MVC/Razor implementations, React-enhanced interfaces, API-driven frontends, or headless architectures using Umbraco content APIs.
Our Umbraco 17 work can include:
- Umbraco 17 solution setup and architecture planning
- .NET 10 project configuration
- Document types, data types, compositions, blocks, and media modelling
- Editor-friendly content structures and dashboard configuration
- Reusable components for page building
- React frontend integration where suitable
- API development for mobile apps, portals, and headless delivery
- SEO, redirects, sitemaps, metadata, and schema setup
- Performance, accessibility, and hosting optimisation
Migration to Umbraco 17
Moving to Umbraco 17 is a good opportunity to modernise the platform rather than simply carry old problems forward. We audit the current site, identify package and code risks, review content models, plan data migrations, protect SEO value, and test editor workflows before go-live.
For Umbraco 13 to 17, direct LTS-to-LTS upgrades are supported, but they still need careful preparation. We review breaking changes, package compatibility, custom property editors, legacy data types, Block List or Block Grid usage, Media Picker changes, Forms, Deploy, Cloud setup, hosting, and any custom integrations.
For older versions such as Umbraco 7 and 8, migration is usually a larger rebuild or staged migration because the underlying platform, .NET version, editor experience, and content modelling patterns have changed significantly. We can help decide whether an in-place upgrade path, staged migration, or clean Umbraco 17 rebuild is the safest option.
Umbraco 13 End-of-Support Planning
Umbraco 13 remains in its security phase until December 14, 2026, but it is no longer in active support. That means now is the practical window to plan your move to Umbraco 17 LTS or arrange Extended Long-Term Support if your business cannot migrate before the EOL date.
We can help with Umbraco 13 audits, migration estimates, dependency reviews, risk registers, upgrade roadmaps, XLTS planning, and staged delivery plans so the project does not become a rushed security problem later.
React-Based Frontend and API Development
Vanitech can enhance Umbraco with React-based frontend components or API-driven experiences. This is useful when the site needs more interactive interfaces, reusable frontend components, mobile app delivery, customer portals, or a frontend that can evolve independently from the CMS.
- React components mapped to Umbraco content models
- Headless or hybrid frontend architecture
- Content APIs for mobile and web applications
- Reusable design-system components
- Improved frontend maintainability and performance
Content Migration and Import
We migrate content from legacy Umbraco versions, WordPress, Drupal, custom CMS platforms, static HTML sites, and other systems into Umbraco 17. Migration can include content inventory, document type mapping, media migration, URL and redirect planning, SEO metadata migration, data cleanup, import scripts, validation, and editor review.
